lazy Sunday afternoon.

There is just something about a lazy Sunday afternoon that is so relaxing. And, to add to the relaxation, the Masters are on and I'm completely content laying in my recliner, watching golf, and eating corn dogs. Laziness at its prime. And I'm not even feeling guilty.

I'm enjoying seeing this view on the tv...

I love me some Tiger Woods. As a moral compass? Not so much. As a golfer? Yes sir. And I love that he abides by a wardrobe. Always wearing that red shirt on Sundays. And he just hit an awesome fairway shot that landed a foot from the hole. That's my Tiger!

So, anyway, yesterday Chuck and I had our first wedding shower! It was a blast. Kyle, Chuck's brother, threw us a crawfish boil. We had our friends over, along with a handful of his parent's and brother's friends from their old neighborhood they grew up in. Chuck grew up in a neighborhood straight out of a movie. You know, the typical "send your kid out to play and be home by dinner" kind of childhood. So, the whole William and Mary (the neighborhood) crew, our friends, and some family joined in for some crawfish and beer and we had a good time!

Opening our gifts from our friends. Thank you all SO much!

Vaccuum! I'm overly excited :)

I have beautiful sisters and friends who will make a beautiful wedding party. We were just missing Christina! She's beautiful, too, and I was very sad she couldn't make it. That's what 3000 miles will do!

haha these would be our specially ordered cups.... with the wrong wedding date. Oh well! Makes for a good story and doesn't bother me at all. I thought it was funny!

I am so thrilled to be getting so close to the wedding. In case I haven't mentioned it before (ha!) I can not wait to be Mrs. Abbey.

Hope you all are enjoying this beautiful weather! Love you all!

"catch-up blog" is my title way too often.

I'm getting back in the grind of things, including wedding planning and working, wedding planning and working, and then maybe sleeping every now and then, too. But there have been a few exciting things happening around here lately!
Before I get too far, let me just say that I am so far behind on blogging that I'm embarrassed.... and I'm sure I'm forgetting loads of things that have happened, but I'll try my best to catch up.
Moving on..
A couple of weeks ago, we took a few days and went to the beach during Spring Break. I was lucky enough to be able to work my schedule around it at work, so off to Destin, FL we went! And it couldn't have been more beautiful.

The water was teal blue, it was sunny, and just the right temperature to not sweat constantly while laying on the beach. The water was freezing, but what else is expected in the middle of March. It was wonderful getting to spend several days with Robbie before he left for the Navy (missing you, buddy!) and getting a decent, now faded tan was nice, too. Here are some pictures to fill you in!

Dinner at The Back Porch.. lobster-stuffed Mahi Mahi? delish.

Lunch at Whale's Tail.

Just fyi, if you ever want to be surrounded by too many drunk people acting a fool on the beach, go to Whale's Tail during Spring Break. You can't miss the massive crowd from every college in the southern United States area that has congregated within a 200 yard distance.
... and that's after half the crowd went in for the afternoon.

Hanging out late afternoon on the beach.

So, these are our jet skis that we rented for two hours. It was a blast riding around Crab Island, the bay, and the gulf on them!!

And the best part about the jet skis?? WE SAW DOLPHINS!! I've always, always, always had an obsession with dolphins (hence our engagement weekend), so this was basically a slice of heaven for me. We searched and searched for a pod of dolphins for a little over an hour on the skis, and then finally found two! There were about 12 or 15 dolphins that would just hang out with us while we idled next to them. They would swim around and underneath our skis, and never got scared or swam away from us. It doesn't get any better than this, folks. If only there was a picture of my face!

Last afternoon on the beach.
So, let's see. What else is new.. Emily had her prom last weekend, and was.. umm, gorgeous and beautiful and classy and unbelieveable and I'm proud to say we share some of the same genes. She may have been lucky enough to have selectively gotten all of the good ones, but at least I have some of those, right?

Anyway, my sister and Michael..

At least I know that Emily and I share the same "goofy" gene. We seriously need to teach a Goofy 101 class to those two ladies to the left.
So, that's about it here lately. OH, one more thing! I'm trying to get more into photography, and luckily had two models that wanted some engagement pictures done! Here's the lovely couple.

Please, let me be your (free!) photographer for a photo shoot that I know you are dying to have ;) It would be so much fun for me, and you would get some photographs of you in return!
That's really it, now. At the moment, there's a massive storm blowing through, so I hope we don't all blow away. I've never been a fan of storms.. but those April showers do tend to bring May flowers, so hurry up May!!

Love you allllll!!
